WALTER was born on November 1st 1908. He married IVY L'ENFANT (also known as FANNY IVY) in May 1928. Their marriage was registered in Q2 1928 in St. Pancras, London. Ivy was born on May 3rd 1902 in Shoreditch, London. Walter died on December 19th 1980 aged 72. Death registered in Q4 1980 in Worthing, West Sussex. Ivy died on June 11th 1986 aged 84. Death registered in New Forest, Hampshire in Q2 1986. Walter and Ivy had two sons. Walter was a French Polisher by trade. He started work, aged 14, at Challens Pianos in Archers Street, Camden Town. The company subsequently moved to Hermitage Road, Harringay. The Challen company ceased independent manufacture in 1959, with the name going to the Brasted brothers. During WWII Walter was an Auxiliary Fireman having failed his medical during call up. He trained at No. 2 Training Centre 'C', Northwold Road and was assigned to 28, Whitechapel, London from 13th September 1940. Home address during the war was 15, Brierley Road, London, N.9. Walter Crabb - 2nd row from the top, 2nd from the left After the war, Walter was a freelance French Polisher. Whilst living in Steyning, Sussex he did a lot of work for Harold Walker's Pianos in Worthing. Walter and Ivy had 2 children:
